Shame, disgrace, madness. EVE’S APPLE shows us the pointlessness that is Female Genital Mutilation from a stance never before seen, so that the public is aware not only of the origin of barbarity, but also of its reach beyond Africa.
Eve’s Apple is a feature-length documentary about the barbarity of female genital mutilation. The film shows how international agencies, as well as public and private entities are fighting and looking for alternative measures to end this reprehensible practice.
Shot in 4K, the film reflects this harsh reality in order to try to incentivize change. What’s more, it reveals the fact that FGM is not only practiced on the African continent but also in Spain, where over 10,000 girls are at risk of suffering genital mutilation.
Shot in Spain, Chile, Gambia and Kenya, in Eve’s Apple, we coexist with tribes where this practice is the norm and we get to know the work of national and international organizations who fight to abolish it.
