Woodpeckers Dominican Entry for the Oscars

We are very proud to announce that Woodpeckers has been selected as Dominican’s entry for the Academy Awards for foreign-language film.

Woodpeckers had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival this January, the film opened in Dominican Republic last May and will be released in the US on September.

José María Cabral’s WOODPECKERS, the first Dominican movie ever at Sundance, is an immensely accessible prison love story shot in real locations with a cast that brilliantly mixes actors with real inmates.
